Projects submission guidelines

Depending on the type of research project, there are different documents that are required.

For the complete list of required documents, please refer to the appropriate section below. When you have filled out all the required documents, please complete the next two steps to submit it. Please note that both electronic and mail submissions are required.

Step 1 – Electronic submission

Please send an abbreviated (5 pages maximum) version of your file (experimental protocol including : the appropriate litterature review, the project objectives, the research hypotheses, the methods, as well as the participants to the study and the consent form) through email.

Step 2 – Mail submission

Please also send 7 copies of your entire file to the RNQ’s research ethics board at:

1 – Required documents for the submission of a neuroimaging research project

  1. An introduction letter (document in French only)
  2. filled submission form (document in French only) for the neuroimaging research project
  3. The research project protocol
  4. The consent form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited. This latter version must also be submitted to the ethics committe for approbation.
  5. The 3T MRI screening Form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited.
  6. All documents that will be used to recruit participants (public posts, etc…)
  7. A grant letter from funding organization, if applicable
  8. Questionnaires, information forms, and all other documents prepared for participants or their legal tutors
  9. All documents deemed relevent to the ethics, scientific, and financial evaluation

2 – Required documents for the submission of a research project where neuroimaging is not the main technique

  1. An introduction letter (document in French only)
  2. filled submission form (document in French only) for the research project where neuroimaging is not the mains technique
  3. The research project protocol
  4. The consent form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited. This latter version must also be submitted to the ethics committe for approbation.
  5. The 3T MRI screening Form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited.
  6. All documents that will be used to recruit participants (public posts, etc…)
  7. A grant letter from funding organization, if applicable
  8. Questionnaires, information forms, and all other documents prepared for participants or their legal tutors
  9. All documents deemed relevent to the ethics, scientific, and financial evaluation

3 – Required documents for the submission of a neuroimaging research project containing clinical trials

  1. An introduction letter (document in French only)
  2. filled submission form (document in French only) for the neuroimaging research project containing clinical trials.
  3. The research project protocol
  4. The consent form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited. This latter version must also be submitted to the ethics committe for approbation.
  5. The 3T MRI screening Form. A french version is also necessary if francophone participants will be recruited.
  6. All documents that will be used to recruit participants (public posts, etc…)
  7. The investigator booklet
  8. The “No objection letter” from Santé Canada
  9. A copy of the selection visit, if applicable
  10. A detailed description of the budget planned for the entire study, if applicable
  11. Questionnaires, information forms, and all other documents prepared for participants or their legal tutors
